Place an order, and what each status actually means
Ordering step by step, and what the shop is doing at each status.
Safety level: informational · Time: about 6 minutes · Level: beginner
Place an order and follow it through, knowing what is happening behind each status rather than guessing.
Applies to
Every order placed on this site, retail or business.
Place the order
- Add what you want to the cart. The price shown is GST-inclusive and is your account's price.
- Open the cart and check quantities. Stock status is shown per item — in stock, limited or out of stock.
- Choose Checkout, confirm the delivery address, and pick collection or delivery.
- Pay by the method you prefer, or choose to pay on collection where that is offered.
What each status means
- Placed — we have your order. It is not accepted yet. Submitting an order is an offer to buy; acceptance happens after we verify price, stock and payment.
- Awaiting payment — the payment did not complete or is still being confirmed by the bank. Nothing is reserved at this point.
- Confirmed — payment is settled and stock is allocated to you. This is the point at which the order is genuinely yours.
- Packed — picked and boxed, waiting for the courier or for you.
- Dispatched — with the courier. Tracking, where the courier provides it, appears on the order.
- Ready for collection — waiting at the counter. Bring the order number.
- Delivered / Collected — closed.
- Cancelled or Refunded — see the cancellation and refund policy for timing.
Expected result
The order appears under My orders immediately, and the status there is the authoritative one — ahead of any email, which can be delayed by the mail provider.
If it does not work
- Payment taken but the order says awaiting payment — do not pay twice. Gateway confirmation can lag by a few minutes. If it has not resolved, contact us with the payment reference.
- An item went out of stock after ordering — we contact you before dispatch with the options rather than substituting anything.
- Wrong address — tell us before the status reaches Packed. After dispatch it is a courier matter and much harder.
